These terms govern participation in the Don’t Follow Back (“DFB”, “we”, “us”) Creator / Affiliate program (“Program”). By promoting DFB using referral links, you (“Creator”, “you”) agree to these Terms.

Plain-English Summary: You share your referral link. When someone pays to unlock results, we track the referral and pay you 80% of net after processing fees. You must disclose that you earn a commission. Don’t spam, mislead, or do anything illegal. We reserve the right to update these Terms.

1) Eligibility & Enrollment

  • Participation is invitation-based or by our approval.
  • You must be 18+ and able to receive payments (e.g., PayPal) in USD.
  • You are an independent contractor, not an employee, partner, or agent of DFB.

2) Your Referral Links & Tracking

  • Your link format:
    https://dontfollowback.com/?ref=YOURNAME or https://dontfollowback.com/r/YOURNAME.
  • When a visitor clicks your link, we set a dfb_ref cookie for 30 days and store the referral in session. If that visitor completes a paid unlock during that window, the conversion is attributed to you.
  • Attribution model: last-touch within the 30‑day window. If a different referral link is clicked later, that referral gets credit for a subsequent purchase.
  • We record conversions via payment metadata and webhooks (Stripe / PayPal / Coinbase). If a processor declines, reverses, or flags a payment, it does not count.

3) Qualifying Conversions

A conversion is counted when:

  1. The customer arrives with your referral present (cookie/session), and
  2. The customer completes a paid unlock (successful charge captured and not refunded), and
  3. The checkout is verified by the processor and our systems (e.g., Stripe checkout.session.completed or PayPal capture 200).

Non-qualifying: self-referrals, chargebacks, test transactions, fraud or abuse, refunded or reversed payments, or any conversion connected to prohibited promotion (see §7).

4) Commission & Fees

  • Your commission is 80% of Net per qualified conversion.
  • Net = Gross customer payment minus payment-processor fees and adjustments (e.g., gateway fees, cross‑border/FX fees, network fees, dispute fees if any).
  • Reference examples (subject to change):
    • Stripe card unlock at $3.00 → fees ~ $0.39 → Net ~$2.61 → Your 80% ≈ $2.09.
    • PayPal unlock at $3.00 → fees vary; we apply the actual fee from our settlement.
  • All amounts are in USD unless stated otherwise.

5) Payouts

  • Release timing: We can pay only after funds are released by the processor. Stripe typically releases in 3–5 days on new or changing accounts; PayPal may be immediate.
  • Payout window: Once funds are available, we aim to pay within 3 days.
  • Method: PayPal (preferred) or another mutually agreed method.
  • Reversals: If a transaction is later refunded or charged back, the corresponding commission may be deducted from future payouts.

6) Transparency & Reports

  • We log each conversion with timestamp, provider, amount, and your referral code.
  • Internal analytics and the CLI report can show your conversions, gross, processor fees, and net split (80/20).
  • Reporting is best‑effort and may be delayed by processor events (e.g., late webhooks).

7) Promotion Rules (What’s Not Allowed)

You must follow these guidelines:

  • Honest promotion only — no false claims, no guarantees of specific results.
  • No spam: no unsolicited DMs, comment spam, email spam, or mass tag spam.
  • No impersonation of DFB or others; no fake reviews or manipulated screenshots.
  • No illegal or harmful content, including hate, harassment, doxxing, or defamation.
  • No paid unlock “giveaways” that imply guaranteed refunds, or schemes that game attribution.
  • No bidding on DFB brand terms for ads without written permission.

We may withhold or reverse commissions and/or remove you from the Program for violations or suspected abuse.

8) Disclosures & Compliance

  • Follow FTC guidelines for endorsements: clearly disclose you may earn a commission, e.g. “I may earn a commission if you unlock through my link.”
  • Follow the rules of each platform (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
  • You’re responsible for taxes on your earnings; we may require forms for compliance.

9) Intellectual Property & Brand

  • You can reference DFB by name and show the product as part of your content.
  • You may use DFB brand assets for promotion as-is (no alteration) and only to link to DFB.
  • Don’t create look‑alike sites/apps, imply partnership, or mislead users about affiliation.

10) Refunds, Chargebacks, and Fraud

  • If a transaction is refunded, charged back, or flagged as fraudulent, the related commission is not payable or may be reversed.
  • We may withhold payouts while investigating suspicious activity.

11) Term & Termination

  • These Terms apply while you participate in the Program.
  • Either party may terminate participation at any time for any reason by written notice (email is fine).
  • On termination, unpaid but qualified commissions will be paid on the next payout cycle (subject to normal release timing and adjustments).

12) Program Changes

  • We may update these Terms or Program details at any time. If we make material changes, we will post the new effective date and, where practical, notify active creators.
