Exporting your data
Get the
right file.
Instagram offers two export formats. Only one works here — and it matters.
Open Instagram Settings
Go to Settings & privacy → Accounts Center → Your information and permissions.
Start your export
Tap Export your information → Create export → Export to device.
Pick JSON — not HTML
On the Confirm screen, set Format to JSON. Under Connections, select Followers and Following only. Deselect everything else.
Submit & wait for the email
Instagram emails you a download link. Bookmark this page now — come back, download the ZIP, and upload it above.
