One export, clearer evidence

More than just an
unfollower checker.

Start with current follower relationships, save a Snapshot to track changes over time, or explore supported analytics already present in a fuller Instagram export.

How it works

From export to follower report in three steps

The picture guide walks through the unfamiliar part: requesting the correct export file.

1
Get your official Instagram or Threads file

Use Accounts Center to request the export. You never give DFB your social login.

Step-by-step picture guide →
2
Choose JSON and only the records you need

Followers and Following is enough for the Follower Report. Add the activity categories for Advanced Insights — and leave media and messages out.

3
Upload it and build your report

DFB organizes current relationship groups and any other supported records present in the export.

A current export shows current relationships. Save a Snapshot to track follower-list changes between two dates.

Why DontFollowBack is safe

Private by design.
Useful beyond the basics.

DFB is a safe unfollower app because it never touches your account. It reads the export file you download from Instagram yourself — no login, no password, no third-party access — and deletes the temporary upload after parsing.

📸

Current relationship reports

Separate current non-followers, fans, mutuals, and other supported relationship groups.

✏️

Unfollower tracking over time

Save a Snapshot and compare it with a newer export to review follower-list changes between those dates.

Advanced export insights

A fuller Instagram export can unlock supported privacy, content, advertiser, account-history, and export-health analysis.

🛡️

No account connection

No login, password, or scraping. Temporary upload files are deleted after parsing.

Unfollower tracking

Save today.
Compare later.

DFB can track follower-list changes between exports. Save today's follower list as a Snapshot, then compare it with a newer export later.

01

Create today's follower report

Upload a current export. The preview can show up to 10 current non-follower records alongside the report's other relationship groups.

02

Save a Snapshot

Download the follower baseline and keep it on your device for a future comparison.

Learn what a Snapshot records →
03

Come back later

Load the saved Snapshot with a newer export so DFB has a before and after follower list to compare.

04

Review what changed

See which earlier follower records cannot be matched in the newer list, with reminders that renames, deactivations, restorations, and export timing can affect the result.

Already saved a Snapshot? Compare it with a newer export.

Compare My Snapshot Current non-followers remain separate from changes detected between dates.

A missing record shows a change in the available lists, not why the change happened. Account renames and availability can remain ambiguous.

Exporting your data

Get the
right file.

Request a machine-readable export from Instagram or Threads. Choose JSON when the platform offers a format choice.

01

Open the official export controls

For Instagram, go to Accounts CenterYour information and permissionsExport your information. Threads labels can vary by app version.

02

Create an export to your device

Select the Instagram or Threads profile you want to analyze, then choose the option to export the information to your device.

03

Tick the boxes for the report you want

Tap Customize information, then match one of these two checklists.

Follower Report

Fastest export · smallest file

  • Connections → Followers and following

Advanced Insights

Fuller export · same checklist plus

  • Your Instagram activity
  • Personal information
  • Security and login information
  • Ads information
  • Logged information
  • Leave unchecked: photos, videos, and other media — they balloon the ZIP past upload limits and DFB never processes them.
  • Leave unchecked: Messages — DFB does not read private message bodies.
04

Set JSON and All time, then wait for the download

On the final screen set Format → JSON and Date range → All time, then start the export. The platform sends an in-app or email notification when the file is ready. Download the original ZIP and upload it above without rearranging its contents.
