How it works
The picture guide walks through the unfamiliar part: requesting the correct export file.
Use Accounts Center to request the export. You never give DFB your social login.
Step-by-step picture guide →JSON lets DFB read the Followers and Following records inside the ZIP.
DFB organizes current relationship groups and any other supported records present in the export.
A current export shows current relationships. Save a Snapshot to track follower-list changes between two dates.
Why people use DontFollowBack
Review relationships, track changes with Snapshots, and explore supported analytics without handing over account access.
Separate current non-followers, fans, mutuals, and other supported relationship groups.
Save a Snapshot and compare it with a newer export to review follower-list changes between those dates.
A fuller Instagram export can unlock supported privacy, content, advertiser, account-history, and export-health analysis.
No login, password, or scraping. Temporary upload files are deleted after parsing.
Unfollower tracking
DFB can track follower-list changes between exports. Save today's follower list as a Snapshot, then compare it with a newer export later.
Upload a current export. The preview can show up to 10 current non-follower records alongside the report's other relationship groups.
Download the follower baseline and keep it on your device for a future comparison.
Learn what a Snapshot records →Load the saved Snapshot with a newer export so DFB has a before and after follower list to compare.
See which earlier follower records cannot be matched in the newer list, with reminders that renames, deactivations, restorations, and export timing can affect the result.
Already saved a Snapshot? Compare it with a newer export.
Compare My Snapshot Current non-followers remain separate from changes detected between dates.A missing record shows a change in the available lists, not why the change happened. Account renames and availability can remain ambiguous.
Exporting your data
Request a machine-readable export from Instagram or Threads. Choose JSON when the platform offers a format choice.
For Instagram, go to Accounts Center → Your information and permissions → Export your information. Threads labels can vary by app version.
Select the Instagram or Threads profile you want to analyze, then choose the option to export the information to your device.
For a Follower Report, include Followers and Following. For Instagram Advanced Insights, include the additional account and activity categories you want to inspect. Media and private messages are not needed.
The platform prepares the file and sends an in-app or email notification when it is ready. Download the original ZIP and upload it above without rearranging its contents.
Open the detailed export guide →Export screens and labels can change. The essential choices are a supported JSON export, the records required for your report, and no unnecessary media. How export-based analysis avoids account access →
