Instagram and Threads export analysis FAQ

Don't Follow Back is an export-based analyzer for supported Instagram and Threads data. It can build follower relationship reports and, for fuller Instagram exports, organize supported account, privacy, content, attention, activity, history, and export-health records.

Not from current Followers and Following lists alone. One export can show accounts you follow that do not currently follow you back. A recent-unfollow claim requires an explicit platform history dataset or an earlier Snapshot compared with a newer export.

A Snapshot is a portable baseline of follower records from one point in time. Keep the downloaded file on your device, then load it with a newer export to identify records that changed between the two capture dates. Renames, deactivations, restorations, and export timing can still affect interpretation.

When the relevant records are present, the report can separate Followers, Following, mutuals, current non-followers, fans, pending requests, blocked or restricted accounts, Favorites, Close Friends, and supported history lists. Missing datasets are not inferred.

Choose JSON when Instagram or Threads offers a format choice. You can upload a supported official ZIP archive or supported JSON file. The relationship report needs follower and following records; Advanced Insights needs a fuller Instagram export with the additional areas you want to inspect.

No. Upload the official ZIP as downloaded. The importer inventories supported records inside it. Editing or rearranging the archive can make platform and dataset detection less reliable.

Depending on the records included, Advanced Insights can organize privacy and account settings, profile and account history, login activity, content and comments, likes and saved items, attention activity, advertisers, searches, audience or business data, and export coverage. Each finding is limited to data actually present in the upload.

An export is a point-in-time download. It can be older than the current in-app state, split follower records across multiple files, omit a requested date range, or represent renamed and unavailable accounts differently. The report uses the records found in the selected export and shows coverage limits where available.

You request the file from Instagram or Threads and choose whether to upload it. Don't Follow Back does not request a social password, session cookie, two-factor code, background monitoring permission, or the ability to act on the account.

The original temporary upload is deleted after parsing or after a failed parse. Normalized relationship data and bounded insight artifacts can remain in private, session-bound storage while the report is active, then expire or are removed through cleanup. Uploading a replacement invalidates the earlier report state.

No. The application analyzes the file you provide and does not connect to the social account. It has no account permission to perform those actions.

No. The report is based on records in the user-selected export. It does not scrape public profiles or claim access to hidden platform data.

The available preview and unlock depend on the detected platform and report type. Product names, current prices, included access, and payment methods are shown on the report and checkout screens. There is no recurring subscription unless a future checkout explicitly says otherwise.

• Confirm that the download is an official JSON export or ZIP containing JSON.
• Upload the original archive without renaming or editing its contents.
• Request Followers and Following for a relationship report.
• Request a fuller export when using Advanced Insights.
• Try a fresh export if the archive is incomplete or outside the needed date range.
