Why it exists
Answer useful questions without connecting an account
Follower tools often start by asking for a social login or continuing permission to monitor an account. Don't Follow Back takes a different approach: request your information from Instagram or Threads, choose the export yourself, and upload only when you want a report.
The original relationship report compares supported Followers and Following records. The product now also supports Threads exports and fuller Instagram exports for Advanced Insights covering supported privacy, profile, content, attention, activity, account-history, advertiser, login, and export-health records.
Current relationships
One export can identify current Followers, Following, mutuals, fans, and accounts you follow that do not currently follow you back. Other account lists appear only when their source records are present.
Changes over time
A current mismatch is not automatically a recent unfollow. Changes require an explicit platform history record or an earlier Snapshot compared with a newer export.
Advanced Insights
Findings summarize supported export records and show coverage limits. They do not guess motive, invent missing history, or claim knowledge outside the selected file.
No account connection
The application does not request a social password, two-factor code, session cookie, extension, or permission to follow, unfollow, post, like, or message.
Processing and retention
Temporary uploads and private report state
- Original uploads: temporary files are deleted after parsing or a failed parse.
- Relationship reports: normalized records can remain in the private session while the report is active.
- Advanced Insights: bounded, session-bound artifacts can remain for active report features and are subject to expiry and cleanup.
- Replacement uploads: loading a new report invalidates the earlier report state.
- Payments: supported payment providers process payment details; the application verifies the resulting report entitlement.

Don't Follow Back is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, owned by, sponsored by, or endorsed by Meta, Instagram, or Threads. Platform names are used to identify the export sources the application supports.
